There is a place called Cansiglio, a place of ancient beauty that takes your breath away every time you arrive there climbing up from the Alpago basin when, after the last curve, the curtain opens on an immense stage of pastures, forests, and peaks. In that place there is a forest so large that one glance is not enough to feel it all, and when you enter, you see the wind singing among the trees, backlit. The beauty of the forest is strongly characterized by the presence of beech, in fact the great forest is composed mainly of pure beech woods, or mixed with silver firs, with red spruces, larches, and birches more sporadic.
