Oświecim-Myślenice-Gródek-Bochnia-Kraków

The May holiday is a great time to put plans into action to conquer new municipalities and enjoy new landscapes. So, on May 1st, I take the train from Bytom to Oświęcim. The route then leads through Zator towards Wadowice. The weather is great and so is the mood. I quickly reach Wadowice where I take a short break with a papal cream cake and coffee. A few photos, then back on the road. This time heading towards Zembrzyce. The first climb near Łękawica really challenges me. A quick descent to the shore of Lake Mucharskie and onward towards Bieńkówka. The second climb to the Szklarska Pass is even better than the first. From there, mostly downhill to Stróża and Myślenice. There I have lunch and the first overnight stay. The accommodation is average but I even manage to watch the Real vs Bayern match in a nearby pub. In the morning, I set out following the Raba River to Mszana Dolna. It drizzles a bit but before Kasinka Mała the sun appears. Lunch in Mszana is rather poor and I don't like the town at all. Before Jurków, another climb near Mały Ćwilinek. It’s tough, but the views are stunning and the descent to Jurków fantastic. In "Dobra Chata" I buy delicious goat cheese and admire the very charming village of Dobra. For the next overnight stay, I reach the Hohołówka villa. Great accommodation and friendly hosts.
