Guidoline offers on Sunday, November 19 a first ride to Dieppe on the occasion of the Herring Festival organized on our beautiful Alabaster coast. A good pretext for an autumn ride that will allow you to test yourself in low temperatures and test your winter bike equipment. After crossing the Norman countryside to Dieppe through the plateau of the Caux region, we will reward ourselves with the tasting of some grilled herrings and potatoes cooked over the embers at the harbor. The return to Rouen will take the road through the Varenne valley, passing obviously through Beaumont-le-hareng! On the agenda: – Meeting at 8:30 at Guidoline, 38, rue Molière – Departure at 9:00 sharp for a route over the plateau of Montreuil in Caux – 63 km – Herrings at the fishing port around 12:00 – 2:00 PM > Return home through the Varenne valley – 73 km - arrival before nightfall - For the less experienced, there is an option to return by train from Dieppe. Outing open to all even though the distance of 136 km should make you assess your level if you are a beginner. In case of difficult weather such as rain/strong winds, we do not get discouraged and we all ride together motivating each other. Remember to equip yourself accordingly. Feeling cold while cycling often spoils an outing. Also plan for a hat and something to keep warm in Dieppe, as the herring tasting takes place outdoors. Wearing a helmet is mandatory.
