Da Foligno si risale la Valtopina, si raggiunge Nocera Umbra, Gualdo Tadino, Fossato di Vico, Scheggia con strada prevalentemente in salita. Ora la strada inizierà a scendere verso il mare (salvo una breve salita nelle gole di Frasassi).  

Si attraversa il Parco del Monte Cucco,  raggiungendo Isola Fossara e Sassoferrato. Ora si entra nel  Parco Naturale Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi, si passa per le Gole di Frasassi, si raggiunge Jesi e si termina a Falconara Marittima.
