Day 1 of the Elbe Tour
For the first time, we decided on a multi-day cycling vacation. The first tour is planned from Haldensleben to Dresden. There are three of us (two adults and one teenager) and we did not book any accommodation in advance. First, we cycled along the Mittelland Canal to the Elbe. Then the Elbe Cycle Route heading south. Through Magdeburg and beyond. Well developed and signposted. We arrived early afternoon, allowing us to swim in the forest lakes near Pretzin. Overnight stay at the 'Storchennest' guesthouse near the Pretzien weir.
Tip: It's really advisable to cycle from north to the source, since the prevailing wind direction always comes from the northwest.
