Gubbio-Cagli-Gola del Furlo-Fano

We cross the small town heading north. We take Via del Teatro Romano and Via Tifernate until we turn right (just before a large roundabout) onto the secondary Via San Donato to avoid the SR 452 della Contessa and the long uphill tunnel. The road climbs for about 4 km, still on the secondary, and after another 2 km, we emerge onto the SR 452. We travel about 4 km on it then at the bridge over the Burano river we turn right onto the secondary Via del Fornace and then onto Via Contessa Vecchia. We reach the intersection with Via Contessa Nuova, but after 200 meters we leave it to take a new secondary road that runs alongside the regional one and takes us to Cantiano.

We take the old Via Flaminia (which runs alongside the more modern SP 3) and arrive at Cagli. At the exit from Cagli we admire the famous Ponte Mallio and continuing on the Flaminia Nord we arrive at Acqualagna. Continuing on the Flaminia we arrive at Furlo. We continue along the Candigliano river and cross the Galleria Romana del Furlo. After exiting the tunnel, after about a hundred meters we turn right, cross the river and take a dirt road for 900 mt, then Via Sant'Anna del Furlo and go to cross the river again to admire the Marmitte dei Giganti. We reach Fossombrone, cross it and turn right onto Via Galilei. We travel a stretch of the SP 5, then left onto the SP 78 Ridolfina. We follow it until we reach the intersection with the SP 77, continue for 300 mt then take a right onto the SP 78 Via Bagnara. At the intersection with the SP 49 we turn left, follow it until the intersection with the SP 92, go left until we intersect Via Metauro. We follow this secondary road (which then becomes Via Papiria) until we intersect with Via IV Novembre, continue on via 12 Novembre, arrive at the station, cross and reach the waterfront of Fano. We arrive at the lighthouse, then at the station.
