About This Route

Le trincee, sono le testimoni della prima guerra mondiale in questo territorio. Quelle del Monte Spik erano state forti cate per proteggersi dagli attacchi dal versante del ume Judrio e facevano parte della seconda e terza linea difensiva. Furono teatro della battaglia di “Cividale” del 27 ottobre 1917. Per percorrere questo sentiero, si parte dal Trivio, in comune di San Leonardo e ci si dirige verso Castelmonte. Dopo poche centinaia di metri, si segue il sentiero che parte a sinistra costeggiando la strada. Al termine del sentiero, ritornati sulla strada si svolta a destra per tornare al Trivio.

In our territory trenches are witnesses of the World War, the ones by Mount Spik were forti ed in order to protect from attacks from the side of the river Judrio and they were part of the second and third defensive lines. The ter- ritory of the trenches was a eld for the battle of Cividale on 27th October 1917. For this track the start is by Trivio, under the municipality of San Leonardo, following the directions to Castelmonte. After a few hundreds of meters take the path on the left that goes along the road. At the end of the path, back on the road, turn right to return to Trivio.
