OverviewAbout this route

Start in village of Galisteo, beautiful route uphill and then into artist colony of Madrid (last water for 50 miles). Climbs out of Madrid thru Ortiz mountains are moderate (up to 7%), then one nasty half mile up Heartbreak Hill (inclines up to 16%) before fast downhill to Cedar Grove. Flat across to Stanley with nice distant mountain views, north from Stanley rolling hills back into Galisteo, again with lovely views of Santa Fe mountains and other ranges. A good long ride to test the legs!
