Pętla Wysoka

The Gorce Mountains are probably the most underrated mountain range in Poland. Despite their apparent uniformity, each part differs from the others, and circling the massif in one day allows you to notice these subtle differences. The route is not easy; we will have to face two long climbs: in Lubomierz (380 m elevation gain, about 15 km) and in Ochotnica (430 m, about 20 km). However, the rewards for overcoming them are worth it. In the first case, there is a nearly twenty-kilometer descent that allows you to reach really high speeds – 70 km/h on a road bike is within reach. In the second, a breathtaking view of the Tatra panorama and Czorsztyńskie Lake. During the trip, at least one longer break should be planned, preferably between the mentioned climbs. It is not necessary to carry large amounts of provisions, as in practically every town passed through you will find a shop with basic products.
