De la Cheia spre mtii. Siriului

The route is not very difficult for someone with a little training. This route starts on a gravel road that intersects with DN 1A just a few meters before the sign marking the entrance to Cheia. Here you will also find a sign towards Valea Stanii on a pole. The first section is a gentle ascent that then, of course, descends a few kilometers towards Valea Stanii. This is followed by a section where you ascend slightly along the Telejenelului Valley. The only more difficult section of the route is between km 13.30 and km 15, which is about 1.7 km, where there is quite a steep and demanding climb. The soil in that area is a mix of clay and sand, so when it's damp (rain, etc.) it will be very slippery. After that, you will enter the ridge area, without forest, which has very slight ascents and descents. When you start descending, shortly after you begin, you will find a spring on the right side, so you won't have any problems with drinking water even on a very hot day. Most of the descent takes place on a road with sharp stones, so it's not very comfortable. However, the final part of the descent is much more beautiful. The last section of the route is again on the Telejenelului Valley, on a very well-maintained road with a slight ascent. The entire route is on a gravel road. I estimate it can be completed in 4-6 hours with breaks for photos. I hope you enjoy the route!
