La Syrah (Caromb) to Bedoin and Crillon

One of our favourite lunch spots is the terrace ('La Grange') at the hotel Crillon-le-Brave. The hotel is one of the places where the rich and famous might be seen, however lunch there is surprisingly reasonable (although they do charge for drinks). The Petit Crillon is also good for drinks or a less expensive lunch and makes a great location for car/people watching.

It is inevitably a ferrocious assent to Crillon, but this is the easiest way, especially if you detour to Bedoin (a mecca for the lycra-clad) for morning coffee on route. A nice easy downhill coast home. Avoid the temptation to take one of the more northern mountain tracks from Bedoin to Crillon, these are only suitable for VTT.
