About this route
Make sure to spend some days in Dunedin. A great city full of design, artists, good restaurants, nightlife, a university and gorgeous nature in the surroundings. Cycling out of Dunedin, however, is challenging. Therefore we took the touristic train until Waitati where we started again. From there stay on the coast road through Karitane (beautiful village), then to Oamaru, Duntroon along the Alps2Ocean trail. At Kurow, we crossed the river to reach Waimate. From Waimate to Timaru.
