Burgdorfer Aue - Dachtmissen - Otze Rundtour

The route starts in the western district of Burgdorf near the Astrid Lindgren School. From here, you cycle along Geschwister Scholl Weg towards the city center, passing behind the tax office, the town hall, and the vehicle registration office until you cross the wooden Aue bridge. From this bridge, you can see below the probably never-used, expensively paved promenade path (1), which together with the 'fancy' concrete staircase opposite Wächterstieg has already featured in a TV series about wasteful spending with Mario Barth (2). You cycle along the Aue river and switch to the other side of the stream at the small bridge dam, where there is a small weir (3). Continuing straight, at Ostlandring, turn left to cross the bypass road (B188) after about 500 meters to the right via Dachtmissener Weg. Continuing straight leads you on a 'shooting ride' into the forest. At a clearing to the left (4), a narrower path branches off; after about 200 meters, you cross a small bridge over a drainage ditch (5) and reach the Aue again at Salzstraße (6). Here, there is a small rapid followed by a pool; depending on recent rainfall and water quality (to the eye), you can at least cool your feet here. Following the road slightly to the right through Dachtmissen, you continue straight in the curve An der Masch until the field path forks. To the left (7) now leads a field path along cornfields and on the left again along the Aue, finally reaching Hänigser Straße. Heading west again over the Aue (8), you pass through Weferlingsen. Before Dammbruch forks onto Weferlingser Weg, you can take the forest trail, which is also used as a horse, hiking, and cycling trail, through the woods (9) and learn about trees at the information boards. In Otze, you pass the train station (10), follow Freiengericht, and turn left at a sharp curve onto Kapellenweg (11), until you have to sweat crossing the railway tracks southwards on Burgdorfer Straße. Once accomplished, the route gently descends parallel to the road (12) until reaching Sorgenser Mühle (13). Directly opposite at the pedestrian crossing, a narrow cycling-pedestrian path runs through trees behind the indoor pool. Once there, you either continue straight directly into Burgdorf city center or return to the western district via the pedestrian bridge and Föhrenkamp.
