RT 64 km Wackenmühle-Bouzonville-Valmunster

The route runs completely through Lorraine and mostly on little-trafficked country roads as well as designated bike paths, and is very hilly.

From the Wacken mill, it goes steeply uphill to get used to it and just as steeply downhill to Niedaltdorf towards the French border via Guerstling-Bentling to Bouzonville and a small town, then continuing through Vaudreching, Freistoff with the castle "Saint Sixte", Azeling, Gomelange, Bettange to Valmunster. Here is the "Eglise Saint Jean-Baptiste", one of the oldest churches in Lorraine (first mentioned in the 10th century). Then it continues uphill and downhill through Velving, Tétherchen, Dalem, Merten over the border into Saarland via Bisten to Altforweiler. (a break at "Café Creative" is recommended). Further on to Unterfelsberg, with a view of the Devil's Castle, Baumarais, Wallerfangen on the Saar bike path to Dillingen, passing (right side of the Saar) the "Pachtener Weiher", Rehlingen to Siersburg. After Niedtalhalle, the path leads along the left side of the Nied (in river direction and sunny side) back to Hemersdorf and to the Wacken mill.
