About This Route

Sfruttando il comodo servizio bici bus è possibile partire da Grado e raggiungere in circa mezz’ora Monfalcone;  qui merita sicuramente una sosta il MU.CA., l’unico museo italiano dedicato alla cantieristica. Si inizia l’escursione dirigendosi  verso Doberdò del Lago e il Centro Visite Gradina, dove pranzare ammirando il paesaggio carsico. Dopo la visita alla Riserva Naturale si prosegue verso Jamiano,  Sablici e San Giovanni al Timavo dove è possibile visitare le famose “Bocche del Timavo”; da qui l’itinerario può procedere verso Duino e i suoi castelli a picco sul mare oppure verso il Sito Paleontologico del Dinosauro Antonio (aperto solo la domenica). Rientro a Monfalcone in bici e da qui si prende il Bici Bus per tornare a Grado. Ciascun ciclista pedala sotto la propria esclusiva responsabilità e a proprio rischio e pericolo.

GIORNO/PERIODO CONSIGLIATO:  il bici bus Gorizia-Cormons-Grado è attivo da giugno a settembre tutti i sabati, le domeniche e i festivi; partenza da Grado ore 10.10; partenza da Monfalcone in Via Grado il pomeriggio alle ore 17.54. Gli orari dei mezzi di trasporto potrebbero subire variazioni. Verificali sul sito www.tplfvg.it prima di partire.

Durch den praktischen BiciBus ist man von Grado aus in etwa einer halben Stunde in Monfalcone; hier lohnt sich zweifelsohne ein Besuch im MU.CA., dem einzigen Schiffsbaumuseum Italiens. Der Ausflug beginnt mit einer Fahrt Richtung Doberdò del Lago und zum Besucherzentrum Gradina, wo man beim Mittagessen die Karstlandschaft bewundern kann. Nach dem Besuch im Naturschutzgebiet geht es weiter nach Jamiano, Sablici und San Giovanni al Timavo, wo man die berühmte Mündung des Timavo besichtigen kann; von hier kann man Richtung Duino mit seiner hoch über dem Meer thronenden Festung oder zur paläontologischen Stätte des Dinosauriers Antonio fahren (nur sonntags geöffnet). Im Anschluss geht es zurück nach Monfalcone und dann mit dem BiciBus nach Grado. Jeder Radfahrer radelt auf eigene Verantwortung und auf eigenes Risiko.

EMPFOHLENER TAG/ZEITRAUM: der BiciBus Gorizia-Cormons-Grado verkehrt von Juni bis September samstags, sonntags und feiertags.  Abfahrt aus Grado um 10:10 Uhr ; Abfahrt aus Monfalcone in der Via Grado am Nachmittag um 17.54 Uhr. Die Fahrpläne können sich ändern. By using the efficient bike-bus service, you can leave from Grado and reach, after half an hour, the city of Monfalcone. Here the MuCa, the only Italian museum dedicated to shipbuilding, is definitely worth a stop.The journey starts towards Doberdò del Lago and the visitors centre of Gradina, where you can have lunch surrounded by the Karst landscape. After visiting the Nature Reserve, you can go up to Jamiano, Sablici and San Giovanni al Timavo, with the famous “Bocche del Timavo”, the resurgences of the river Timavo. From here, you can go towards Duino and its castles built on sheer cliffs overlooking the sea, or towards the Paleontological Site of the Dinosaur Antonio (open exclusively on Sundays). Return to Monfalcone by bike and then to Grado with the bike-bus service. Each cyclist rides under his or her own responsibility and at his or her own risk.

SUGGESTED DAY/PERIOD OF THE YEAR: the bike-bus service Gorizia-Cormons-Grado is available from June to September on Saturdays, Sundays and during public holidays. Departure from Grado at 10.10 a.m.. Departure from Monfalcone in Via Grado in the afternoon at 5.54 p.m. Transport timetables may be subject to change. Check them on the website www.tplfvg.it before leaving.
