Vendvidéki túra a vasfüggöny mentén

Wine region tour along the Iron Curtain. Our route follows the old border stones where, 30 years ago, a wire fence, the so-called Iron Curtain, marked the Hungarian border. Once a forbidden area for people, today it is an excellent hiking trail that heals the wounds caused by human intolerance. We stop at the border stone marking Slovenia's northernmost point (46° 52' 37.52" SGŠ, 16° 14' 18.14" VGD). Then, during a break at the former Budinci guard post, we regain strength and continue northward. In Orfalu, in the Rába region, the locals await us with a Bethlehem nativity scene. Refreshments and snacks are provided, after which we turn south and return to Budinci. The 12.4 km hike concludes at the local village home with a warm meal and friendly gathering.
