Orbetello-Vulci-Gradoli-Bolsena

The route starts from Orbetello station and follows a cycle path to the town center. Then you cross the bridge over the lagoon and, upon reaching the provincial road, turn right towards Porto Ercole. After a little over a kilometer, turn left towards the Feniglia Nature Reserve. You cross it via a beautiful unpaved trail immersed in nature, exiting at Ansedonia. Then, you climb to visit the ruins of the old Roman town of Cosa. Descend again and visit the Etruscan cut with the Spacco della Regina. Take the coastal road to Capalbio Scalo, where you cross the railway via the underpass to the station. Reach the Pedemontanea road, turn right, and pass through Borgo Carige until you arrive at the SP 75. Turn left, pass next to the entrance to the Tarot Garden, and reach Pescia Fiorentina. Turn right onto the Abbadia road. Ride 5 km on asphalt, then the road becomes a magnificent dirt trail that leads you about 7 km to near Vulci. (Warning: this section is very clayey and becomes almost impassable if it has rained or is raining in previous days. In this case, where the dirt trail begins, take a small road on the right leading to Pescia Romana. Here, some roads on the west side of the highway lead to the Vulci junction. Cross the highway (very carefully!) and take the SP del Fiora, which reconnects with the main track before the Abbadia Bridge.) After the dirt track finishes, reach Castello dell'Abbadia, crossing the magnificent medieval bridge. Join the SP Doganella, which you leave after about 8 km to turn left onto the SP di Castro. After approximately 11 km, turn right onto the SP di Ponte San Pietro, and after another 5 km, onto the SP Lamone. Travel 4 km on it, then turn left onto a dirt road to cross the Selva del Lamone Nature Reserve. After 4 km, join the dirt path of the "Sentiero dei Briganti," which you follow for about 8 km. Turn left onto the SP Laterense, reach Latera, then Gradoli, and join the SR Cassia which, by turning right, takes you to Bolsena. Note: If necessary (due to bad weather or to make the route less strenuous), you can avoid the dirt trail through Selva del Lamone by continuing on SP 47 towards Farnese, Vila Fontane, and rejoining the route at Latera.
