About This Route

Lovely route - very much lives up to its name!

Mostly NCN 1 and NCN 76.

VAST majority away from busy roads on either bike paths, shared paths or very quiet country roads so suitable for less experienced cyclists. But, don't expect to make quick time: shared paths are understandably slow, and there are some parts (especially between Bambrugh and Berwick) that are grassy/mud ruts, and other bits that are very gravelly/rocky.

Not recommended for delicate road bikes!

This route is based on Newcastle to Edinburgh .

Path through racecourse grounds - not sure how it'll work on racedays.

Bike repair station at Lindisfarne Inn - track pump, tools etc. Very useful!
