Vogesen: Münster - Kruth -Münster CLONED FROM ROUTE 12262

Those who love long climbs and descents should definitely cycle in the Vosges. This route starts in the tourist town of Munster at about 350 m elevation. Following a marked bike path behind the railway, you enter the charming valley of the La Fecht river. At Metzeral, the steep and long climb towards the Route des Crêtes begins. The effort is rewarded by the views atop the Route des Crêtes at around 1200 m elevation.

For this loop, we descend at Le Markstein towards the lake of Kruth. Adorned by many waterfalls along the roadside, it’s a pleasant climb along all the hairpin bends towards La Bresse and eventually back to the Route des Crêtes. A detour to Le Hohneck is always possible. With some lovely views from the Col de La Schlucht, it’s an easy and extended descent back to Munster.
