Biennathlon 2010 Bike

The bike route is simply amazing! The course initially runs along the lake to Vingelz. Here the warm-up is over and it steeply climbs up the seemingly endless forest road to Magglingen called "Psycho". To prevent bikers from thinking too much, "Psycho" is exited straight in the first right turn. The ascent is thus less monotonous, as it is interrupted several times by flatter, smoother sections. In Gaicht, there is a short stretch of asphalt uphill towards Twannberg before reaching another forest road leading to the first single trail. The legendary "Kurhausweg" is sure to make every biker's heart race. It is probably the most beautiful trail in the whole region and we don't know anyone who doesn't look back with a smile. At the Federal Office of Sport, where the Biennathlon virus has also broken out, bikers receive a snack before heading steeply uphill again towards Lothurm, the landmark on Hohmatt. Via the less steep "End-of-the-World" trail, one reaches the extremely tasty "Tuscany Trail". This has already caused many joyful cries. We navigate around the intersections in Evilard with a few winding trails to reach the beloved Snakeline down to Biel in dry weather. The pavilion, a place for lovers and connoisseurs, is passed on the right, and a short steep trail leads us to the scenic highlight above the large rock slab. On beautiful days, one feels here as if on the Côte d’Azur! Enjoy it and step off the bike briefly: on the 80m long staircase, riding is prohibited! After two switchbacks, the ascent continues, and via an underpass in Vingelz, one returns along the lake to the transition zone.
