Petit ballon - Platzerwassel - Grand ballon

From the start, we ascend to halfway up the Grand Ballon. After a forested descent towards Guebwiller, we follow the simple climbs of the col de Bannstein and Col du Firstplan. The Petit Ballon from the east has a bit more bite with just kilometers of 10% on a very rough road, first through the forest and higher up winding through Vosges pastures where Munster cheese originates. After a fast descent, the last real climb of the day follows to the Col du Platzerwassel. From there, it’s high over the Route de Cretes to the Ballon d'Alsace. Then the legs can rest in the descent to the sleeping place.
