Lüneburger Heide: Totengrund

Just behind Bockelmann's sheep barn, you reach the Ur-Heide area. The path to the Steingrundtrail is calm, then it becomes rougher and narrower. The loop around the Totengrund offers fantastic views of a unique basin. From Wilsede, a well-drivable path follows the 'Most Beautiful Hiking Trail in Germany 2014' to Egestorf. Passing fields and forests, you reach the Nindorf Wildlife Park. Via Ollsen, you head to Undeloh - along a panoramic trail with views. The salt smuggler path 'Spitzbubenweg' leads through heathland to the Silvester Lake. Schneverdingen is reached. A detour through the Pietzmoor then leads back, forest-rich, to Behringen late in the evening.
