Overview
The starting point for a tour to the Baltic Sea was my campsite in Bernsdorf. After the stages and accommodation were established, we set off on the tour. The first stage was supposed to lead towards Berlin, not too far away, so that we could use the S-Bahn through Berlin in case of bad weather. It was quite cool, and we set off around 7:30 a.m. at about 5°C. I already knew the first section as I had traveled it several times http://www.bikemap.net/route/171980. Through Senftenberg for the first time with a Garmin bike navigator - a pretty good route, although Monday's rush hour traffic in the city was quite challenging. After Senftenberg, past the Lausitzring, we went along the A13 - time for a photo. We continued on country roads and bike paths toward our stage destination. The weather didn't improve much; wind and drizzle were a challenge. However, the landscape made up for it. In Goßmar, we had our first break, time for lunch. After a short rest, we continued towards Golßen, a stretch on the Fläming Skate. The next segment was navigated according to the map - a mistake. It was supposed to be the shortest way away from the big roads, but when it says 'Not suitable for bicycles,' then that's probably true. A few kilometers went quite well, but then we entered the land of three seas - sand sea, forest sea, nothing more. And there were forestry works in the woods with deeply rutted 'roads' and mosquitoes - shortly before, the sun came out and it was time for lighter clothing. Thus, we pushed with our luggage and mosquito spray. Shortly after, we got back on the pedals and continued on better paths until we reached the Glashütte Museum - I need to check it out again later; it looked interesting. The rest of the way to Baruth was on field paths and later bike paths, although the first section after the Glashütte was not very tire-friendly - only shards of glass; the road would have been better suited. After showering and dinner, it was off to bed - the next day, another big stage awaited us.
