Velký zlínský okruh

The large Zlín circuit is a beautiful route, although a bit challenging. It is extensive and its length is 62 kilometers. On this circuit, however, you will pass through a large part of the surroundings of Zlín, which hide many interesting places.

The route will lead you past historical monuments and through beautiful nature around Zlín, a city with beautiful architecture characterized by functionalist elements. Definitely worth a visit is the Baťa skyscraper (49.2229986N, 17.6583944E), which was built by Jan Antonín Baťa himself between 1936 and 1938 according to the design of architect Vladimír Karfík as the headquarters of the Baťa shoe company. The building is number 21, and is therefore called 'the twenty-one'.

On this bike path, you will not avoid climbs, as the route begins immediately with an ascent. The trail will take you to the Pod Tlustou horou junction around the Forest Cemetery, then through Kudlov and around the Želechovické paseky nature park to the Pindula junction. Here you can visit the Na Pinduli restaurant and guesthouse (49.1840211N, 17.7019825E), where you can sit in a beautiful large garden belonging to the restaurant. It is equipped with wooden tables and benches. If you want to enjoy the surroundings a little longer, then stay overnight in the rooms or apartments.

The route then leads past the Pod Slavický hill, from where you head to Vizovice. In the town of Vizovice stands an 18th-century castle (49.2199086N, 17.8506533E). The architecturally pure castle building hides richly furnished interiors in Baroque, Rococo, Empire and Biedermeier styles. They are equipped with collections of porcelain, oriental objects and many everyday items. However, the most precious collection is an extensive collection of paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries with a rare set of Dutch paintings and works by important Czech authors. Many events are held at the castle throughout the year. You can thus plan your trip around a day when one of them is held. These include concerts, picnic or games days in the castle park.

You will then pass through the villages of Dešná and Všemina, where you can drop by the Všemina reservoir (49.2902514N, 17.8617956E). The surroundings of this reservoir offer fun for the whole family. It is a popular place for swimming with grassy beaches. In the area, you can also visit a rope center or tennis courts.

The trail then leads through Slušovice and Štípa back to Zlín. There, make your way, for example, to the renowned Lešná Zoo (49.2716083N, 17.7148144E), which offers a wonderfully spent day in the company of exotic animals, quality refreshments and many attractions for children. The Zlín zoo is the most visited tourist place in Moravia. The Lešná Castle (49.2732647N, 17.7178272E), which regularly organizes tours for the public, is also located in the zoo. It is one of the youngest noble residences in Moravia. The fairy-tale building, in which neo-Renaissance mixes with neo-Gothic, Swiss style and a certain dose of neo-Baroque, is a perfect example of noble life at the beginning of the twentieth century. Exceptionally preserved interiors with original furniture and living accessories enchant every visitor. An important part of the interior is an interesting collection of items from around the world. You will find works of ivory, ebony, teakwood, as well as antique and Egyptian excavations. Wedding ceremonies also take place in the most beautiful Hall of Ancestors.
