Dél-cserháti köröcske

A pleasant little tour in the southern part of Nógrád. I usually tackle it on a mountain bike in about 2 hours and 20 minutes, which is a pretty good time for this distance. Starting from Szirák towards Vanyarc, the hardest section of the route immediately follows over about 4 km, with two long climbs, the second of which is a hairpin turn. This section has also recently become a favorite for amateur car races, but leather-clad motorcyclists love it too. It's worth looking back during the climbs, as there's a beautiful view of the Mátra mountains from here.

Later, there's another significant hill to overcome - after leaving Kálló - but in return, there's hardly any traffic on this stretch of road.

By the way, anyone who wants can easily extend the length of this loop with a detour to Versegi, Kisbaigyon, and Szarvasgede, even up to 60-70 km. One thing is certain: you won't touch the same place twice.

Potholes! Between Egyházasdengeleg and Szirák is the road in the worst condition in the area, but there are also many potholes along the rest of the tour, so anyone trying with a branded road bike should do so at their own risk!
