Okruh ze Svitav přes Svojanov a Březovu nasytí náročnější cyklisty

Discovering the hilly landscape with a range of historical sites around Svitavy can be for the more demanding cyclists who are not afraid of a few dozen kilometers and steeper climbs. The total length is fifty-two kilometers. Therefore, this is a somewhat more challenging route. You can give your legs a rest by visiting Svojanov Castle.

Start your cycling journey in Svitavy at the Peace Square. Continue to the roundabout and head toward Purkyňova Street, which means the second exit. Turn onto Hraniční Street, continuing on Svitavská Street for about thirteen hundred meters. Then, join the third-class road on Kapitána Jaroše Street, continuing one and a half kilometers to Hradec nad Svitavou. Here, you can enjoy a view of the Church of Saint Catherine. From there, continue on the road towards Radiměř and further to Rohozná. From here, it's not far to Svojanov. Here don't miss the opportunity to visit the local castle or rest and refresh yourself in the village below it. The next destination is the village of Vítějeves, from which you continue to Bělá nad Svitavou. Here, you can visit the baroque church of All Saints from the eighteenth century. At the local cemetery is buried the parachutist Ivan Banďěrev, who died a few weeks before the end of World War II. From Bělá, head towards Brněnec and from there to Březová nad Svitavou. Along the way, you might encounter the crack caves known as the Devil's Holes. You can admire the surroundings of Březová from the well-hidden lookout tower of Jára Cimrman, which is one of the highlights of the educational trail through the valley of the Svitava River. From there, return to Hradec nad Svitavou and continue to the starting point of the entire route. There are many variants

You can obviously discover the beauty of the district and its monuments from the saddle of your bike on other interesting routes. If you're in Litomyšl, don’t miss a trip to Nedošínský Grove, the Rose Meadow, you can also take a look at the Toulovcovy Maštale or head to the cottage of Max Švabinský in Kozlov. In the surroundings of Moravská Třebová, there are also several interesting locations for a cycling trip. For example, the museum in Mladějov, Hřebečské mining trails, the ruins of Radkov Castle, it’s not far to Jevíčko or the plum brandy distillery in Biskupice. Polička attracts with its water bodies and ponds, but the proximity of the Žďár Mountains is also pleasing. An interesting trip idea is Lukasova linden tree in Telecí or the geological exhibition in Korouhev.
