Na skok na bicyklu do Prachova

The Prachovské skály rightly belong among the most romantic parts of the Czech Paradise, and riding through at least part of them on a bicycle is a great opportunity to do something for your health while simultaneously treating yourself to a pleasant experience.

The route can begin, for example, in Jičín, from where it heads to Holín: along the road it climbs to Prachov to the memorials from the Austro-Prussian War complemented with panels about this war from 1866.

The bike path continues to Pařezská Lhota, where at the end we turn left and cautiously descend sharply around Pařez, where there are remains of a rocky castle with a stone tower, descending into Blat. There, one can refresh oneself at a restaurant with a garden at the intersection.

Back on the road in the direction of Maršov up to the state road with a left turn to Jičín. On this road about 500 m at the foothill with a left turn to Dolní Lochov, then Ostružna, and around the airport back to Jičín. In total, the trip does not exceed 22 kilometers. During this trip, it is possible to add a short hiking walk around the Prachovské skály from the Tourist lodge, which can be reached from Prachov.

To get to the Jinolické ponds, you will take a similar route. From Jičín, you will hike to Prachov similarly to the previous route, but at the intersection about 500 m before Pařezská Lhota, you will turn right and descend into Březka and further around the Jinolické ponds where it is possible to stop, swim and also refresh. You will continue to the village of Jinolice and at the state road Turnov – Jičín, you will turn right.

You will only drive about 500m towards Jičín and then turn left into Dolní Podůlší and cross the railway track into Zámezí. After overcoming the steep descent, turn right into Železnice and after passing through it, on the road from Lomnice to Jičín turn right into Valdice and return to Jičín via a bike path through a linden alley. If you don't swim in the Jinolické ponds, I recommend the open-air swimming pool Kníže in Jičín. In total, you will cover about 20 kilometers.
