About This Route

A beautiful mountain bike ride starting and finishing at the village of Katouna. The route starts with some steep climbs and beautiful single tracks, riding through one of the oldest oak forests of Europe with stunning view of the east side of the island and the mainland. Going down the hill of Skaros, you arrive to the Monastery of Red Church built in 1478. Platistoma is the next village of the route on the way to the mountainous village of Karya, where you will start your return to Katouna. On the route there are springs with cool water and thick shade perfect for quick break.
