09 Velefique-Castro de Filabres

Overview: Instead of climbing the very steep ramps of the Alto de Velefique, we prefer a gentler track that ascends the southern slope of the mountain range. The mountain and rock are grey, while in an almost lunar landscape, the rambla streams wind to the tune of intense green. Upon reaching the pass, we spot the village, but an enticing stone path separates us from our destination. Technical data: 4 km of gentle ascent on a dirt track with an elevation gain of 200 m. The descent to Castro de Filabres is very steep and technical, with a stone surface and very tight corners.
