A cycling route starting in Long Island City, New York, United States of America.
Overview
About this route
Went to ride along the PEarl Closed Street. It was not closed, might only be a weekend thing.
Road west along Willoughby Close Street, mapper won't show wrong direction.
6th Avenuye between Dean Street and Bergen Street was closed because of the police anti-riot squads. Detoured west on Dean to Flatbush.
Went straight from 6th Avenue to 4th Avenue on 4th Street. Mapper won't let show.
The public walkway around Whole Foods is very nice. Just my speed!
2nd place was closed street and was lovely.
There is a small pedestrian passage between Rapelye and Woodhull, skirting the east side of the highway.
Summit Street overpass is all steps!
Took the Willow Closed Street Between Pierrepont and Middagh. Mapper won't show.
Lots of people on Brooklyn Bridge. Unless it rains, I won't take it again. Unlike at the height of COVID, when it was empty, people have come back.
Pearl Street was not closed, so my goal for the day was missed.
Rode all along Front Street. There is almost no traffic and it's also pedestrian.
First time I ever rode on bikeway under the Brooklyn Bridge. Fantastic
Went wrong way on Cherry Street, because there is a tunnel through the majestic anchorage of the Manhattan Bridge.
Madison Street was rough paved.
Heavy police presence at foot of Williamsburgh. Saw a camera type guy take a picture of a black guy. Black guy was nuts, but I don't blame himn for not wanting a picture taken. Physical fight would have occurred if the police wasn't there.
Ran into the back of the protest march! Rode along with them on Bedford for a bit, then broke off. Watched them at Lorimer and Nassau and applauded them.
Stopped off at Rosarios to buy cheese. Very depressing! Did not buy anything.
Bought taramosalata, pita, sun dried tomatoes, olives at Mediterranean.
