About this route

Explore the valley along the different picturesque villages by racing bike. Via Mottec, descend to Ayer (Unesco) and climb to St-Luc. Further climb to the village of Chandolin, the highest permanently inhabited village in Switzerland. Here turn around and descend to St-Luc. In Vissoie cross the river by the hydroelectric plant. Now a solid climb follows to Grimentz, from where you will continue climbing to the Moiry reservoir. Be sure to ride to the end of the lake as you don't get to ride nearly up to a glacier every day. On the way back, keep your speed in check as it can go fast at times. Don't forget to stop in the beautiful flower-filled Grimentz. The village center is car- and bike-free! From Mottec, it is a quiet climb to Zinal.
