About this route
An (almost road bike-suitable) MTB dream loop around the Rofan Mountains!
Wonderfully quiet side roads, punchy, mostly shaded climbs, Garda Lake vibes at Lake Achensee, and plenty of places to stop along the way.
As a bonus, the terrain offers a fast descent from Lake Achensee down into the bustling Inn Valley.
Apart from the 5 kilometers on partly coarse gravel between Aschau and Steinberg, the rest of the tour is fully paved. Unfortunately, this section is impassable for road bikes—unless you're carrying it ;-) Maybe a cyclocross bike would be an option?
