Tagesfahrt rund um den unteren Westerwald

The day tour starts in Elgendorf and goes through the Gelbach valley to the Lahn river. Here you have to ride a bit towards Nassau, then there is a weir over the Lahn on the left, allowing you to continue on the bike path to Bad Ems. At this point, you should change sides and continue on the bike path to Lahnstein. On the Rhine—opposite the Königsbacher brewery—the Maximilians invites you to take a short break. To continue from there, use the upper exit of the Maximilians (it's no longer possible to proceed along the Rhine towards Koblenz) and watch for bike path signs. Then it goes to Koblenz at the Deutsches Eck. After having some ice cream, you cross back to the other side of the Rhine and continue towards Vallendar (a nice bike path I hadn't known before). In Vallendar, unfortunately, you have to ride on the federal road until just before the highway the bike path turns right uphill into the mountains and emerges at Bendorf. From here, you continue towards Sayn and the Sayntal valley. In Isenburg, you take a short coffee and cake break before turning right behind the village toward Breitenau/Wittgert. From Wittgert towards Mogendorf, then via Siershahn and Wirges back to Elgendorf. A nice route but somewhat demanding due to its length and climbs over the last 20 km, especially for casual cyclists.
