About this route

Inaugurated in 2013, the Cycle Path of the Oglio River stretches for 280 km from the Passo del Tonale to the Po River, through the provinces of Brescia, Bergamo, Mantova, and Cremona. Ideally, you start from the 1,883 m altitude at the border between Lombardy and South Tyrol, surrounded by the glaciers of Adamello, and descend through the woods of the Valle Camonica to Lake Iseo, the vineyards of Franciacorta, the Oglio North and South Park, and then into the plain, with the Oglio River flowing into the Po as the cycle path ends crossing the Barche Bridge of San Matteo delle Chiaviche, one of the last boat bridges still present in Italy. Currently, 90% of the cycle path is complete, 60% on asphalt and the rest unpaved: to ride the whole way takes at least 3 days, but of course the Cycle Path of the Oglio River is a new major attraction for all bike enthusiasts, even just for a one-day trip.
