Easy route.
Starting from Petali and going to the church Agios Minas you will take the big road taking you out of the city. Altough the road has traffic is a wide road with plenty of cyclists and runners. Arriving to Kariotes, you will see the sign to the "Alikies". The round of the salt flats it is not paved, but you will not have any problem with the bike.
The salt flats were first created in the 17th century and are an important industrial monument. The salt flats, which were the salt road, functioned until 1988, maintaining the structure of the Venetian designs.
On the way back, you can take a detour until Ligia's harbour, where you can stop in one of the cafeterias to enjoy a drink with amazing views and the ambience of a traditional greek harbour.
Going back to Lefkada, you will take another route to be able to pass in front of the marina of Lefkas, before finishing the ride in Petali.
