Welcome to the Haspengouw castle landscape. More than a hundred castles, hidden in the valleys or atop the hills, adorn this rolling landscape. For centuries, fertile ground charmed the nobility. This results in a culturally rich region with romantic castles and stately square farms.

This predominantly flat cycling route of about 32 km guides you to the highlights of the rich past in this region. Castles with long avenues and fragrant gardens, robust fortresses, monumental square farms... And all of this in the heart of the beautiful fruit region.

SIGNAGE The various junctions are numbered and clearly indicated on blue rectangular signs. The signs mark the bike routes in both directions. This way, you can cycle easily from junction to junction via a simple system.

NATURE OF THE ROAD You ride through a calm, rural environment with orchards, castles, sunken lanes, and church villages. The landscape is gently rolling, and the route is approximately 25% car-free.

FOOD AND DRINK This region is highly recommended for true food lovers. You can taste rich jams, artisanal syrup, fruit pies, fruit juices, or the Croque Haspengouw, with Limburg cave cheese, ham, apple, and pear. For beer lovers, there are tasty regional beers, such as those from Brouwerij Kerkom and Brouwerij Wilderen.
