Tres Comunidades por los cañones

A spectacular route that enters three regions: La Rioja, the Basque Country, and Castilla y León.

We start by ascending the Rivas pass with spectacular views over all of La Rioja, then we immerse ourselves in the impressive beech forests on the northern slope of the Cantabria mountain range and descend through the Inglares river canyon in Basque territory until reaching Miranda, where we cross the Ebro and continue into Castile lands. Here, a gentle climb begins along the Oroncillo riverbed up to the Bugedo canyon, which once surpassed will leave us in Foncea, back in La Rioja territory.

The only notable difficulty of the route is the ascent of the Rivas pass, which should be tackled with cool temperatures as it has almost no shade along its entire stretch on the La Rioja side.
