Werder (Havel) - Braunschweig

A cycling route starting in Werder, Brandenburg, Germany.

Overview

About this route

Part 1 of 4 of the route from Werder to Amsterdam.

On the first day, we go to Braunschweig. Aside from a short wooded section behind Lucksfleiß (about 5km of unpaved road), all the roads are really good. Unfortunately, the bike paths are quite limited, but since federal roads are mostly avoided, this is not a problem at all.

There is a bike path along the B107 behind Ziesar.

From Parchau, you ride a stretch along the Elberadweg, which consists of about 3-4km of slabs. Then you take the ferry in Rögätz (1.50€), which takes a lunch break from 11:45 to 12:30.

The route ends in Braunschweig because we had an overnight option there. Alternatively, you can wonderfully camp in the forest before Braunschweig and after Königslutter, or find a farm, which there is in abundance.
