About this route
From Erfurt by train to Elgersburg. From there, it's about 1:45 hours uphill only over the 'Hohe Warte', which offers a beautiful view, continuing to Mönchshof always along the Rennstieg towards Schmücke.
Once you reach the top, you can sit comfortably in the sun with a bratwurst before it’s back down into the valley at breakneck speed.
Directly behind Mönchshof, descend towards Geraberg, from there always stay on the Gera-Rad-Weg towards Erfurt.
