If you head from the Lahn up the mountain, the Aartal begins with a developed bike path that leads to the confluence with the Dill. Continuing through Dillenburg, you ride a stretch along the Dill on paved asphalt, away from car traffic. After Haiger, you go over the Westerwald height Kalteiche into Siegerland. Here an MTB is useful. After passing Wilnsdorf through the industrial area, the high path starts, partly 'singletrack' until Eiserfeld. There, through the Siegtal, it goes steeply uphill again. Then you go over forest paths, often interrupted by road sections, until you reach Freudenberger Höhe (Willhelmshöhe). There’s also a lot of forest trail here. Finally, you reach Róthemühle, climbing up over Silbekuhle. Then towards Tillkausesn and Blockhaus as the highest elevations, it's almost all downhill to Bergneustadt.
