19-9-10 Cenes de la Vega-Cristo del Almecí-Beas de Granada-Pantano de Quéntar-Quéntar-Dúdar (IBP:78)

Moderate difficulty route (IBP:78) that runs mostly on tracks and on asphalt in the final part. The first section up to Beas is almost all uphill, quite challenging in some stretches with ruts, loose gravel, and good climbs. From Beas to the Quéntar dam, there is an alternation between descents and some easier climbs, and from the dam onward it is almost all downhill, except for a short technical path leading to the Quéntar sports center, which can be avoided by following the asphalt instead of taking the shortcut on the path. Good views and some interesting places to see and photograph, like the Collado del Fraile or the impressive Quéntar dam, although today we didn’t spend much time taking pictures. Passing by the Cortijo Prado Montero, you can detour to see the Virgen de los Labradores, which is another of these interesting places, though we passed it by. The route is taken almost point by point from Antonio Aguilera (it’s his popular ‘Ruta Turuta’). Highly recommended.
