Admire the Kempen while cycling through all its facets!

The LF 51 Kempenroute is a 120 km route, partly in Flanders and the Netherlands, cutting through the Kempen region with its forests, ponds, heaths and meadows. The Flemish section covers 75 km.

'Where the heath meets the sky,' as a priest from Postel once aptly described the beautiful landscape of the Kempen. With this adventurous ride, you’ll discover the splendour and charm of this boundless region. Along exciting paths, you cycle past a mosaic of old arable lands, hedges and banks. You cross sparse heathlands and follow the wet meadows along foaming streams deep into the forests on the Dutch-Belgian border. Reeds, rushes and fragrant bog-myrtle give way here to wood anemone, pine resin and marshy moss. With a bit of luck, a startled deer, hare or lurking hawk will streak past you at full speed.
