Vresse In De Vallei Van De Semois - De Oude Tabaksdorpen Van De Semois

An easy and well-marked walk that mainly follows the course of the Semois and offers many natural and cultural landscapes. From the picturesque village of Vresse, the route takes you over the old stone bridge, the 'Pont St. Lambert' (18th century). Along the Semois, it crosses forests and fields up to the panoramic viewpoint Naglémont at 340 m, the highest point of the walk. From there, you have a wide view of the Semois valley, with two villages, Alle and Mouzaive, in the foreground and extensive forests in the background. The area is marked by tobacco cultivation. Along the gently sloping roads, you discover more and more traces of the agricultural history of this region, such as the old tobacco drying barn and the tobacco villages of Mouzaive and Laforêt. In some places, it feels as if time has stood still. Just before Laforêt, you can take a look at the 'Pont de claies', a primitive bridge made of woven branches, used in summer to cross the river. A visit to the village of Laforêt with its typical houses and old tobacco drying barns is also worthwhile. Laforêt is one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia.
