Berg-Saale-Tour

Challenging mountain bike tour, partly on roads, partly on dirt paths, partly on unpaved hiking trails.

Due to some slightly impassable sections, only suitable for mountain bikes. The route leads from Jena through the beautiful Leutratal towards Milda, from there along the ridge to Keßlar, then steeply down into the valley (60 Kmh) directly into the Reinstädter Grund, from Geunitz there is a steep climb up to Martinsroda, where a wonderful high trail leads to Großeutersdorf. The last stretch from Großeutersdorf to Jena follows the official Saale bike path.

Suitable for moderately trained mountain bikers who enjoy remote and hilly routes where fast sections alternate with challenging climbs.
