Fietsroute Bedum en Winsum

Pisa may be famous for its leaning tower, but Bedum has one too. And one that leans even more: the tower of the Walfridus Church, built in the 11th century, leans at 4.18 degrees, while Pisa's is just 3.97 degrees. You might also not have known that footballer Arjen Robben and cyclist Laurens ten Dam were born here. Winsum, known to Pieterpad hikers, also has a unique church tower. The staircase to the tower of the Torenkerk is actually on the outside. Although no nationally known athletes were born here, that could easily change in the future. The small village of Winsum has nine sports clubs.
