(Pfalz) Runde Bergzabern Wissembourg duch den Pfälzer Wald

Round from Bad Bergzabern through the Palatinate Forest, past idyllic forest lakes, along the Portzbach and Wieslauter rivers to the French border. From there we continue along the Lauter to the historic old town of Wissembourg with Alsatian flair. Also worth seeing is the abbey church of St. Peter and Paul, one of the largest and most impressive Alsatian churches next to the Strasbourg Cathedral. On the way back, we cycle through Schweigen through the German Wine Gate and through vineyards back to Bad Bergzabern. Before reaching Bergzabern, we make a detour to Dörrenbach, also known as 'the Sleeping Beauty of the Palatinate', awarded in 1975 as the most beautiful village on the Wine Route.
