Morcles, et plus si entente...

The 29 hairpins on the climb up to Morcles are numbered: 29-28-27 ... fortunately, the distance between two hairpins is often very short.

Only a waterfall glimpsed through the chestnut tree branches will distract you from the monotonous counting 13-12-11 ... but in the end, it's a beautiful ascent in a wild setting away from traffic.

It's worth continuing the ascent beyond Morcles: the forest gradually thins out, giving the impression of reaching the mountain summit, almost touching the Dent de Morcles with your fingertips.

Avoid going there in autumn; the road is covered with fallen leaves and chestnut husks, making it slippery on the descent!
