#51 Lasinja mali krug

Route 51 (Lasinja small circle), total length 5.7 km

This short circular route starts from the central square in Lasinja and takes you along the main road through this picturesque place. The path itself only requires you to enjoy the warm welcome, the green landscape surrounded by fields, mysterious forests, and endless meadows.

Near the central square, there are shops and cafes, and you can also find parking space where you can leave your car if you come from a more distant tourist destination for a day trip or a multi-day cycling excursion in the Lasinja area.

In earlier history, Lasinja was known as a parish (Catholic religious) and military center during the Croatian Military Frontier when the Lasinja Border Guard (the most famous elite soldiers of the Croatian Military Frontier) were stationed there.

After one kilometer, you will leave the main road and turn right onto a narrower road through wide fields and pass through a gently hilly area that can rightfully be called a true oasis of peace surrounded by forest.

There is also a stone pit nearby where construction stone is extracted, for which Lasinja is also known. Among other mineral resources, there are barite and kaolin clay, as well as inexhaustible springs and an abundance of water in a branched network of watercourses, and sources of quality drinking water with the presence of thermal springs and mineral water sources.

Riding through the forest landscape, you will be rewarded with the concert singing of various birds, and considering the immediate proximity of the forest, you may also encounter dear forest neighbors such as deer, squirrels, hedgehogs, rabbits, and other forest inhabitants.

The route has connections to routes 49 and 50 while the asphalt surface is 3.9 km long and the gravel surface is 1.8 km long. The route is designed to return along the same path to the starting point at the central square in Lasinja.
