A cycling route starting in Dahn, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

Overview

About this route

3

On a length of six kilometers, there are in the Wasgau, southeast of Dahn, three significant medieval castles; the three-part Dahner castle group, the ruins of Drachenfels castle, and the impressive Berwartstein castle. The Dahner castle group is located just over 1 km east of the small town of Dahn. It is formed by the three castles Altdahn, Grafendahn, and Tanstein. The ruins of Drachenfels castle are the remnants of a rock castle near the village of Busenberg. Berwartstein castle is located near Erlenbach and is the only castle in the Wasgau that has been rebuilt after its destruction and is still inhabited today. The 30 km circular tour, which runs entirely on paved bike paths and has only two minor inclines, passes directly by the 3 castles, making it possible to visit them on foot. / More cycling tours in the Palatinate Forest at: / www.radtouren-pfaezerwald.jimdo.com
