Veluwezoom National Park is a natural area covering about 5,000 hectares. In 1930, it became the first national park in the Netherlands. The hilly landscape consists largely of forests, heathland, and sand drifts. The park is home to red deer, roe deer, and wild boars. Additionally, you can spot foxes and badgers along the way. Rare birds such as the Eurasian hobby, honey buzzard, kingfisher, and skylark also occur here. In terms of reptiles, you can find adders, grass snakes, and lizards. This is a special cycling route through Dutch nature and towns like Ellecom, Rheden, and of course Arnhem.
